. . . that's a sea kitten!
When your name can also be used as a verb that means driving a hook through your head, it's time for a serious image makeover. And who could possibly want to put a hook through a sea kitten?

I'm waiting for their "Save the Venomous Spiders" push, that one will take some real imagination.

Sea Kitten. What's that in Japanese? Whatever it is, it would make a good sushi name.

Honest to God, I no longer believe that PeTA are animal lovers. They are plant haters.

What's ethical about allowing animals to overpopulate their respective niches in the food chains? Is starvation and disease more ethical than culling?
I don't think so.

Peta is weird, "To say the least."
I'm sure someone's working on a banner right now... "Don't eat chikn, eat Sea Kitten!"

I've had this discussion at work several times over, it is the herbivores fate to be culled from the herd by carnivores as a yearling or ancient; the only other choice is the happy spector of starvation and disease. This has been the truth for millions (ok 10,00 for you creationists) years.
Honestly one must assume that they would be happy if we returned to glancing furtively outside of the cave at night to insure the carnivores weren't gathering. I, myself, would be pleased to escort each and every one to a solo trip in the north woods at the height of winter (Hi Wilber!), when game is scarce, to play with the starving wolves.

I’m all for humane treatment of animals, but PETA gives the idea a bad name. Of course my idea of humane includes decent treatment of food producing animals and quick dispatch of any animal killed for food whether domestic or wild. It also includes humane culling of deer and other animals that are at risk of starvation from overpopulation. It seems PETA’s ideas about what constitutes humane treatment become more warped with each passing month.
