Do you really want to empty the clip, though? Even if she has a few spares, that was a bit of overkill. Don't they still have to account for every bullet in the report? What is she going to say about bullet 15? "I wondered if the car might explode the way they do on television."

...when someone fires at you be sure and count your rounds expended.......LOL.....that was nothing short of survival mode for her....she was alone and protected herself very well

That's just training, she really should have paused at each double tap, particularly as there were three guys in the car.

All I know is people have been saying, "Empty the clip." my whole life. In person, in television shows, in movies.
So, just like "literally" has now become a word that can also mean "figuratively", clip can mean whatever the fuck that person intends it to mean and the rest of us can just make the mental translation silently so we can get on with our lives.
