I hate my HS userid/name/tag/handle. It lacks the sense of wit and panache that inform all my posts. Also, it doesn't quite roll off the tongue.
It's not that I'm bad at coming up with names. I play a lot of Crusader Kings II. As a king, I get to name my progeny. Samples: Wretched Dickhole, Bukkake Ace, Gaping Whore, Li'l Rapist, etc., etc. None of those are "me," though.
So have at it. I need to come up with a new name for a new account, as I'm finally abandoning Firefox and I can't remember my password to log back in. I can't even remember the email address I registered with, nor the password to that. So far I've got Jimmy_Enward and ArtFag. Not too big on either.

Yes. I need a new name. Much as Gandalf the Grey returned after fighting the balrog to become the all-powerful Gandalf the White, I would like to be rechristened with new powers.

I was hoping to circumvent this by dropping a few names that are far better than names like that.

I recommend a quest complete with the appropriate fasting, mental preparation and judicious use of visionary plants.
Or if constrained by our modern American lifestyle at least 3 hours in a dark closet with some jenkum.
Only then will you come to know your totem and receive your spirit animal name.

"Bitch-eyes" has a nice ring to it as does "Pie-Ho", "Whale-turd", "Eagle-shit" and "ID10T".
Although as far as the last one goes I prefer the Irish colloquial "Eejit"

How about analrapist ? The Urban Dictionary defines it as "Somebody who combines the professions of analyst and therapist, thus becoming an analrapist." so at least it's classy.

"Kathy" has a nice ring to it, with plenty of history and color, as well. Otherwise, I like "Achoo" and "Analrapist." Or maybe "Analchoo."

Maybe you should ask Gary Hart.
I started out as Fled Frinstone, but gave up my last name when I moved to the new place on High Street. Neither name is exactly a prize winner. However, having coveted the neighbor's wife, Betty, and given the fact that Mr. Johnson was saluting Brooke Lee Adams at the time, it seemed momentarily appropriate. These choices we all make, we can't simply walk away from them, can we?

Much in the same vein I too had an unintelligible thread of symbols and was christened Scotty for it by his Horsiness. I christened you AhPook the first week you showed up with that random name generator bullshit you got there already. Go with that.

Oh, and if you e-mail choad at info@high-street.org, he can re-name your existing account so you don't have to create a new one (assuming he ever reads what oozes into that mailbox).

I started life as Get Real. During one of Cruel's software "upgrades" when it was necessary to create new accounts to sign back on, I used the occasion to change my name to fnord. There was a dude named Meta who was offended by my choice, which was a huge bonus!

Shit! All this time I thought of you as an oddity of Gay-Republican racist who had an acerbic wit. Taking into consideration the definition of your nom-de-plume, could it be that you are the contrarian that every good discussion needs?

I remember Meta's objection but misread the 'trilogy' reference, dismissing it as something hobbit related and of little consequence. Sorry about that. Meta was an arrogant putz sometimes.

You mean, back when internet access was confined to defense contractors and academics, and modem yielding peasants had to fend for themselves with bulletin board networks, packet switching carriers and satellite feeds?

I used to belong to this BBS called Chess Kingdom and Night Moves. We played L.O.R.D. And chatting with the 'sysop' was the cool thing to do. 1200 baud modem all the way! Then call waiting came along and used to knock me offline. Piss.

I still remember the times when we used to have to plunge FidoNet queues because the uplink partner went offline and we had to reroute to someone else. But we mostly used them to trade Nagel pictures and hacked versions of Arkanoid.
But the real revolution came from newsgroups. They had much better porn.

Not that far back for me. Fall of 1995 at the college library. Immediately developed a jones that required a second home phone line and a Mindspring account that I still have to this day. Cut my message board teeth on WBS, The Webchat Broadcasting System and searched my hearts delight on Webcrawler.

Blasphemer. Leave bob for your next hair-do, Taint. I vote: "Narcissus" - the perfect name for a fArt historian. It will appeal to his artistic vanities, while gently mocking his proclivity for public masturbation. By the way...where did it go...did you insensitive cunts hurt its little feelers?
