Your pretty fucked if you missed London in 76-77... My condolences.  Mahahahhahahaaaa!!!
The best band/performer was the late lamented Iary Dury & The Blockheads... preceded byt Kilburn and The High Roaders, but that may just be to arcane for this posting...

I still think Jake Rivera was a hell of a guy for giving a singer with Polio and multiple other problems a shot at the high-times.  Good on you Jake, and I wish there was a Label like stiff around.

Wonderful time, great people, fuck I miss all of you, especially Phil from Chili Willi's and ....  Good times Phil, sorry you punked out and died, you left a hole in the hearts of all yer friends and bandmates.

Yer Pal Dusty.

Yeah. And Johnny Moped who preceded them.

That was the last time there was anything even remotely interesting about England. I'd rather visit Iraq. Its just an in-bred police state now.

Never really impressed with Mr. Moped, sorry.

I all fairness, Moped preceded the lot. Unlike the wonderful Mr. Dury (and no disrespected) they didn't have a pre-shaped mold to fit in to. They were just a bunch of drunks that were punks before even New Yawk came up with the concept.

I know that, really.  Pub Rock is really what we are talking about hence my mention of Chili Willie and Ians' earlier running Kilburn and the High Roaders.

I saw them at the Odeon with Mink DeVille opening.  Wilco Johnson had just left.  Yikes!   What a great Show!
