In discussing how President Obama uses children to shield himself from criticism, I broke my own rule yark yark witter witter witter
If he can present to the public one single example of President Obama doing this, I will send him a check for a hundred bucks. I swear to God.

It’s always the Family Values Republicans™ who try to score political points off of the children living in the White House. They’re the ones who talked about Carter’s “ugly little daughter Amy”, and McCain is the one who claimed Chelsea Clinton was fathered by Janet Reno. They also aren’t above trashing the children of their own party members; Bush Jr. accused McCain of fathering a mulatta and cost him several primaries in the South; he was referring to McCain’s adopted daughter from India.

It just goes to show that Shrub had no business talking about other people's children. And I note that it was the press, not another politician making fun of his little tramp.

And... it wasn't either of his daughters. This was covered extensively on Cruel.

My long held suspicions have finally been confirmed! Glen Beck is a member of the Offspring.

[T]he event's main charity to support is the Special Operations Warrior Foundation (SOWF), which provides assistance to service members' families "in the event of an accident or loss of life." Glenn Beck is likely to skim off about 99% of the donations at this rally.
The SOWF.

My in-laws drove from Georgia to D.C. to take part in Moronfest '10. I received a facebook page suggestion from good ole Pop (he knows I hate Glenn Beck) about "Restoring Honor" or whatever this bullshit is, AND I'm being subjected to rally updates on my news feed. I would hide them, but then I wouldn't have found out about how they were kicked out of some Divine Divinity God Loves Mavericks meeting because it was for "preachers and pastors only." Good stuff. I had a brief flash of my stepmother-in-law wearing an orange sari, a la Michaele Salahi.
George, I'm dying to steal that and put it on my wall. I don't know if I want to even acknowledge the whole thing, though. I'm so depressed that "tens of thousands of people" are there, according to the NY Times...2 of them are my kid's grandparents. That's fucking gross. I'm getting wrinkles from wandering around sneering.

My little brother and the broken thing called his wife are supporters. Her FB page is all gushing about the "spiritual event". Of course she is a Mormon.

I'm already composing my letter to the editor: "When the Teanaggers* take over and rid the nation of heathen Muslims, who will they save us from next? Buddhists? Atheists? Even Scientologists have rights."
*I misspelled Teabaggers, but decided I like Teanaggers better

You have to work hard to get your religion to say "we're really not all like that guy."
The ads themselves are pretty funny.

"Dear Sir:
It's clear from your shirt that you eager to engage in a nuanced conversation about culturally constructed perceptions of race. To that end, you may be interested to know that while the slaves in Mauritania are indeed black, most slaveowners are Arabs and Berbers. In fact, the ethnic groups to which the slaveowners belong, sometimes called "white Moors," are the descendants of highly cosmopolitan populations in Spain, Morocco, and elsewhere.
An erudite and politically engaged gentleman such as yourself, however, is most likely aware of this. I therefore commend you on your shirt, which is undoubtedly an ironic commentary on Americans' (mis)perception of Africa as a monolithic and racially homogeneous continent."

Obviously you have bought so far into the "White Sin" that you have abandoned the ability to constructivly deal with the realities of the past and present.
