Hospitals cannot refuse to treat anyone for a life threatening illness based on inability to pay. Obviously if someone died, the resulting lawsuit would not be pretty.
Also, a hospital cannot give you a rate quote on an inpatient procedure in nephrology just like they could on a boob job. It just doesn't happen.
By the way, one of our big clients is a hospital, so I am speaking from firsthand knowledge.
So my "shitty [American] legal advice," (as Draz the Canadian non-attorney has stated) is to remove this thread. I doubt that it's Sofie or anyone in her family. I know or a fact that Sofie was liberal with her passwords (but I doubt that she gave them to her kid), and I suspect that it's someone simply trying to make a quick buck off anyone stupid enough to respond.
