I cop to signing a comment on Happy Jihad's House of Pancakes with High-Street's URL; but that was only about ninety minutes ago, and I don't think HJHOP is anyone's idea of a massive traffic generator.

I think it might be a bunch of people looking for that Brian Schofer: Emotionless Engineer stuff -- apparently most of the blogs by that writer have been pulled, and the caches aren't super satisfactory.

Looking at things, I think it's just a matter of the server being overloaded (and some inefficiencies caused by me being lazy).
I've tweaked some settings to hopefully alleviate the problem. Sorry about that.
