Would it not be cheaper for them to simply open a few McDonalds franchises in the village?
It cer-tainly puts the term "fat camp" in a whole new light though (High, Roger!).

At least there isn’t dissonance between the society’s ideal and their reality. In America, thin women are idolized while a majority of American women are fat.

Yes there is. The women (and men) are inclined to be very thin.
India is the same way, though not to this extent.
