A nice thought.  Mind you, including the entire 'toon would have been a much nicer gesture.  Still . . .

Post-Script:  May as well toss this in.

When Soul Train comes on, the cartoons are over.  The worst part is that fakeout animated intro to Soul Train.  Fucking aggravating, that.

The Peabody and Sherman cartoons piqued my interest enough that I had to watch more...  This one is Eurocentric enough that I doubt it would pass modern political correctness standards....

Even the encyclopedia's of the time never mistook Cuzco for Cajamarca and Machu Picchu. Beginning to end, that was an intentional goof. And I never saw that one, either.

I was not going to do this; but by posting the Fucking Banana Goddamn Splits, sailor has left me no choice.

They're baaaaaa-aack.

And I bed you'd all forgotten, or never knew, that they had a "hit" single?  I had, until sailor, goddamn his bell-bottoms, brought those repressed memories back.

And to wrap things up, the lost Syd Barrett demo:

By the way, Sunday's over now, so sweet dreams, y'all.

Glad I made your day, Georgie!  (*kiss*)

Just to make up for the B-S stuff, here's some pretty sweet cartoon theme music...

And, of course, any listing of good theme music would not be complete without...

That was also Bradbury, but was titled !!!"The Long Rain", nope should have looked it up first it was actually "All Summer in a Day". It would also make an good depressing toon.

All Summer in a Day, yes. That didn't give me nightmares, but remembering still depresses the shit outta me.

Well, had you lived through the 70s maybe you too would have opted to chemically remove yourself from that time period. And thank you. I did enjoy the nightmare. That was better sci-fi than I've seen in live action films lately. It seems anytime a modern sci-fi film gets too "thinky" someone decides to turn it into an action movie.

If you liked that one you might want to check out Gandahar, by the same director.  It's still Luddite hippie bullshit, but it's pretty Luddite hippie bullshit and certainly worth a stoned viewing.
