No.  Most of the time it's "meet the new boss, same as the old boss".

Is he wrong?

It should come as no great surprise that a Democratic Party which has abandoned working class people would find that the working class has abandoned them.

While the Democratic leadership defends the status quo, the American people are angry and want change.

And they’re right.

...Stay tuned.

He's not wrong, but I still struggle to understand how a Republican Party that built its platform on fear and hatred (and fealty to one man above all others AND the Constitution) is viewed as the better choice. Republicans have a well-documented history of tanking the economy, yet people still seem to trust them not to fuck it up again.

Do they just have a better PR team?

Or is it really that Americans are truly more motivated by fear and hatred?

Well, yeah, it's both and Harris had the handicap of running as the VP of the current Administration.  Every "I'm gonna do" is met with "why aren't you doing it now?"  Gaza and "the border crisis" were the tar babies (no irony or racial slur intended) Harris could not extricate herself from.  Add in all the lies about the economy and other non-problems the orange asshole is going to "fix" it was a perfectly deadly cocktail she was forced to swallow.

I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find out that Gen Z was one of the biggest reasons Harris lost; they wanted to cancel the Biden administration.  And, who could blame them.  For four years you heard almost no criticism of Biden by Democrats (of which I am not one).

So it doesn't take a crystal ball to know what the next two years are going to be like, we've seen this movie before.

Yeah, it's gonna look like 2017/18 on steroids laces with crack before people (hopefully) remember Orange Jesus is only in it for himself and start voting Republicans out. Sadly, a quick check of the 2026 Senate map suggests the GOP will walk out of 2026 with control of that chamber still.

I'm sick of both parties.  Not sure where to go from here.  Maybe George Carlin was right, fuck voting, it's the great unwashed masses who decides these things not the intelligentsia.

I'm still trying to figure out how Trump came up with roughly the same number of votes as last time, yet Harris fell about 12 million shy of Biden...

I guess they stayed home and cancelled Biden through his proxy.  Isn't it interesting on how absolutely no one on the Democratic side is yelling that this election was rigged?  Of course the cult started yelling it when the polls opened, but even they had to shut their mouths.  I know that Donald will keep them stoked with enemies to be angry at but how will they sustain it when the overall sense of outrage they had for four years is gone?

Did they lose by winning?

I'm assuming that the lack of yelling, "Fraud!" is an attempt to be the 'bigger person' by not becoming the conspiracy-theory cult that Republicans became. I'll admit some of the match doesn't add up, but until there's evidence of actual fraud I'm going to stick with believing my country gave in to fear and hate.
