I have a bayonet I inherited from my great uncle that was originally made for the M1A, even has 1908 stamped on it. But it was filed down to fit the M1 for WWII.

I wonder if his Sargent stuck that radio on his back so he could yell at him without having to stay behind, knowing there was no way the Pvt could reach it.
