Now I do have to stand up and applaud for the new strain I hooked up with. More sativa for a more centered, introspective, creative period. I have a fat bud that's earmarked for the final hand sanding on this inlaid table I'm refinishing.

Otherwise, I have a one of these - http://www.vaporgenie.com for portability
One of these for sitting around on my ass for extended periods of time - http://vaporitevapes.com/product_solo.html
Both have their ups and downs, but get the job done....

I have this, and it works beautifully, but requires cleaning and new food-grade hose a couple times a year. I broke the first stem, but the second has lasted almost two years. I'm considering the Pax for outdoors and "one-quick-hit" use. Also because they're cool and pretty. I used to build my own out of old soldering guns attached to half-wave rectifiers, variacs and the like, but despite increased thermoregulation they all sucked ass and wasted pot.

I have been eyeing one of those myself. Was hoping to try somebody else's before commiting the price of 3/4 oz to it.
Myself and my smoking buddies have volcanos (the knock offs). I was crazy about it for a while but as Goober said, pack and puff is easier.

Just another thing my gentlemans relish is good for.
PS: Does anybody have good grinding tips? For my vape it seems to want a much finer grind. I have used the coffee grinder in the past, but I feel like I'm losing too much that way. The typical head shop grinder is more made for rolling, with big chunks. What works better for a finer grind?

Vape equipment, techniques, grinds, etc....yawn. Obsessing over pot details seems a little juvenile once you hit 30. Shut up, get stoned, and shut up. You can waste time perfecting the "grind" of your weed, or you can just chop it up with a knife. (I use an ulu, which will quickly take it to any grind desired, and leave one hand free for more important pursuits.) I suppose I like it medium-fine - slow release, nice long gentle smoke. If you want it all in your lungs in one big hoot, chop the fucker into dust and turn your vape to max. Whatever, dude, it's just pot, and everybody knows you're smoking it to beat off - it's not like you're mixing fuel for a rocket launch.

For grinding I use one of these:
http://www.spacegrinders.com/products/S … LARGE.html
no I didn't pay anywhere NEAR that much.
when I grind, I usually do it directly over a stainless steel silk screening frame, similar to what is shown here:
the screen section of the grinder itself works fine, but only in small quantities. I like to process a whole satchel at once.
Once I have gathered enough kief, I press it. Right now I use a Pollen Press:
http://www.spacegrinders.com/products/S … Press.html
Again, I didn't anything near that price.
My problem is that when you follow the 'standard' directions for the pollen press, (pressure, low heat) what you end up with is a pill-like disk, extremely hard and brittle. When I break off pieces, they tend to crumble quickly, unlike 'proper' hashish. What I am hoping is that one of you chuckleheads can provide me a better way to process my kief that results in something akin to the hash I can't get anywhere in the local market. Somewhat solid, but squishy when you heat it up.

Grinding and pressing pot does not make hash - not unless you're plucking out just the trichomes, which would be very expensive and tedious. Find a friend with medical marijuana access or come up north and I'll find you whatever colour hash you're looking for.

that's what the silk screen is for. You process the ground material over that and the trichomes (and admittedly some other plant matter) gets sifted through. The resulting kief is a dust consisting of mostly trichomes.
As for medical, I imagine Georgia would still cling to its own laws even if the Feds made it legal. That said, I do get some incredible product down here. The biggest PITA is that all the high grade I find is indica, and I prefer the high from sativa. When I visit Kalifornia, friends hook me up with some fantastic stuff, but it's always leaf, never hash.

I (at least partially) agree about sativa - it's a much better high for getting stuff done. On balance, sadly, the growers I know produce Indica-heavy strains - it's what their head-banging customers demand. It's also easier on the nervous system for some people, who find the energy of a sativa stone too self-illuminating for comfort. But for sex...give me pure Afghani Indica.... It's the fucking-man's opium.

I would have to disagree. Get the right stuff and it's exactly like mixing fuel for a rocket launch.
I used to be the same way with the stinky ditch weed from my hippie relatives, but the hydro revolution changed all that for me. Now I pay for quality and I treat it with respect.
And I fear that no matter what Colorado does, like XR, America's Wang will be a long time coming around to what's blowing in the wind. More the pity. The old folks need it and the Crackers grow some fine stuff.

Once upon a time, long ago, a cop I royally pissed off was determined to bust me anyway possible. After 3 days in a holding cell to refresh the memory of my weed hidey hole, he gave up. Took the next 6 months of searching almost every day before I gave up, too. I never did find that lid and only mention it now because without exception, every time I have to tidy up and hide my stash for some sensitive soul, I lose it.
After 4 hrs of sometimes frantic groping earlier today, I excavated my meager supply, covered in coffee grounds and produce plastic but none the worse for wear. Total brain blank on how it got there, as always. For anything else, I'm an accomplished sneak.

Time for a bump.
So I finally dropped the coin on the Pax. I will say this - I will not use a table top vape again. No reason. A single overnight charge cycle on this thing is more than adequate for an entire day's worth of self indulgence. It also helped me realize that my tabletop model was actually way over temp, and that I was inhaling more than I realized. With this thing, there is almost nothing visible on the exhale, but you can definitely taste the fact that you got something (along with the usual "indicators"). I am also going through a good bit less material than with my table top, and even my trusty ol' dugout. What I used to go through in a month is now lasting me 6-7 weeks.
Now if only my guy would stop focusing on indica and expand to some higher quality sativa, I'd be good-to-go.

So I recently took a training class to help run USPSA matches. The instructor was telling us how "fun" it was recently teaching a class in Nebraska. It seems that hemp grows wildly across the state, and is particularly dense at the shooting range he was teaching at. Apparently he set off a machine used by TSA and spent a fair time explaining why he showed up hot for cannabis and gunpowder...

Yep, shit loads of ditch weed in Nebraska, if you are the enterprising sort you can toss your good seeds in with them and "forget" to mow that section of your land. The hay loft is a nice place for drying also.
From what I've heard anyway...

I can support that view point as it allows the populace of each and every state in the Republic to decide for themselves on the subject however it seems to be contrary to the modern Democrat's point of view and yet it also is somewhat refreshing.

Granted, and I thought the same thing. It wasn't the lax attitude toward weed that shocked me in that memo, it was the implicit acknowledgement of state's rights, a 180 degree reversal of the top-down platform of the Democrats.
