In my experience the anxieties of the social-climbing new-money/no-money trash was nearly always at fever pitch and homicidal/suicidal impulses are the norm. A couple years ago a woman in Coppell and her teen daughter committed suicide because they couldn't make the mortgage on their McMansion.
San Antone has its drawbacks but boy, it is WAY more laid-back down here than in Dee Eff Dubya.

Well, that was actually a Murder Suicide and she was the FREAKING MAYOR of Coppell. So only a semi-apt analogy. There was a lot more to that story than money.
My 'burb is a sleepy little bedroom community with a good cultural mix. My house is almost 30 years old so we don't live in the high-income-lifestyle-pressure area of whatever passes for the yuppies nowadays.
BTW, I hate Coppell. I had to work in city for almost three years but I sure as hell wasn't going to live in it.
